We have started a new unit in Language Arts around the Civil Rights Movement. We will be studying the case of Emmett Till and why it was considered a pivotal moment during the Civil Rights Movement. Throughout this unit we will be gathering evidence that will support the factors that contributed to the importance of this event. Students will also work to develop a deeper understanding of terms such as pivotal, upstander, bystander, victim and perpetrator.
This week's homework (this is in addition to reading for at least 30 minutes from your novel and marking book log):
Tuesday - Complete step 2 of the evidence chart (one side only)
Wednesday (Room 307 only) - respond the the 7 comprehension questions
Thursday (Room 310 only) - respond the the 7 comprehension questions
We focused on 11:00 - 25:00 of this clip from the Eyes on the Prize series. Feel free to watch more.
