We have started a new unit in Language Arts around the Civil Rights Movement. We will be studying the case of Emmett Till and why it was considered a pivotal moment during the Civil Rights Movement. Throughout this unit we will be gathering evidence that will support the factors that contributed to the importance of this event. Students will also work to develop a deeper understanding of terms such as pivotal, upstander, bystander, victim and perpetrator.
