History Fair - Exploration, Encounter, Exchange in Chicago History
This week students will continue to work on their history fair projects. Students will learn how to create an annotated bibliography (links and resources can be found below) and practice constructing historical thesis statements. Please encourage your student to continue with the research process. I have provided many links in previous posts for online sites where research sources can be found. Additionally, there is an incredible amount of sources in Chicago Public Library archives, and in collections across the city.
Please take advantage of this AWESOME opportunity:
The UIC Research & Coaching Palooza for History Fair students is just a week away. It’s free, no advance registration, and your students will return to school with sources/knowledge—and a certificate to prove it! First-come, first-served. Check out webpage for details: http://www.chicagohistoryfair.org/research/research-coaching-palooza.html
-Students should be researching their history fair project at home in addition to the time they are given in class.
-Friday's current event assignment. Please print out or clip the newspaper article and bring the three paragraph write-up.
